Jacqueline Saki Aslan ist eine multimediale Künstlerin, Migrationsforscherin und Vermittlerin und lebt und arbeitet in Berlin. Sie studierte Performance Studies in Hamburg, Soziale Arbeit in Berlin sowie  Bildungswissenschaften in Berlin und Washington, DC. 

Sakis künstlerische Praxis untersucht Performance als Quelle des Empowerments und Sound als Mittel zur Findung alternativer Narrative gegen repressive Politiken in Kunst und Gesellschaft. Ihre Ästhetik bezeichnet sie als „Êzîdîfuturismus“. Sowohl künstlerisch als auch wissenschaftlich beschäftigt sie sich mit der Frage, wie schriftlose und marginalisierte Wissensarchive „from below“ Eingang in öffentliche Erinnerungsräume finden können. Daraus gehen Performancestücke, Texte und Lecture Performances hervor.  

Saki arbeitet mit Gesang, Lyrik, zeitgenössischem Tanz, Sound-Installationen und Stoff-Skulpturen. Der Kassettenrekorder taucht immer wieder als Aktant in ihren Arbeiten auf. Über Audiokassetten geht sie in einen poetischen und musikalischen Dialog mit diasporischen Stimmen und beschwört geisterhafte Chöre herauf. Dabei nähert sie sich den Themen Transgenerationalität, Abwesenheit und Unendlichkeit.

Sakis Lectures, Workshops und Veröffentlichungen behandeln Themen an der Schnittstelle von Kunst, Klassismus, Erinnerungskultur, Menschenrechten und Intersektionalität. Ihre Lecture Performance „Money talks“ behandelt das Thema Klassismus im Kunstbetrieb.

Jacqueline Saki Aslan is a multimedia artist, migration researcher, and mediator who lives and works in Berlin. She studied performance studies in Hamburg, social work in Berlin, as well as Educational Sciences in Berlin and Washington, DC. 

Saki’s artistic practice explores performance as a source of empowerment and sound as a means for finding alternative narratives against repressive policies in art and society. Her aesthetic she refers to as „Êzîdîfuturism.“ Both artistically and scientifically, she is concerned with the and marginalized knowledge archives „from below“ can find their way into public spaces of memory.This results in performance pieces, texts and lecture-performances. 

Saki works with song, poetry, contemporary dance, sound installations and fabric sculptures. The Cassette recorder appears again and again as an actant in her works. Via audio cassettes she goes poetic and musical dialogue with diasporic voices and conjures up ghostly choirs. choruses. In doing so, she approaches themes of transgenerationality, absence, and infinity.

Saki’s lectures, workshops, and publications address issues at the intersection of art, classism, memory culture, human rights, and intersectionality. Her lecture performance „Money talks“ addresses the issue of classism in the art world.
