Joachim B.-Malthet/europa transistor: FUCK YOU, Eu. ro. Pa! – Filmprojektion nach dem gleichnamigen theaterstück von Nicoleta Esinencu (Film und Gespräch)

Nicoleta Esinencu wurde 1978 in einem Land geboren, das es heute nicht mehr gibt. So wie die Protagonist*in in FUCK YOU, EU.RO.PA!, dem Stück, das die moldawische Autorin als Stipendiatin auf Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart schrieb und das ihr 2005 den rumänischen dramAcum-Preis und ein Aufführungsverbot in Moldawien einbrachte. Esinencus Monolog ist ein selbstbewusstes Spiel mit dem Gegenüber, ist Geständnis, Anklage, Symptomsammlung und Gedächtnis einer Transformation: vom Kommunismus zum Postkommunismus, in die neue Zeit, in der sich alles und vieles nicht ändert, vom 

Heilsversprechen zur Desillusionierung.Es ist diese Perspektive, für sie sich der deutsch-französische Regisseur*in Joachim B.-Malthet mit dem Kollektiv europa transistor interessiert, überzeugt davon, dass „individuelle Identität und Kollektiv, 

Anpassung und Ausgrenzung, Ungleichheiten, Heimat und Heimatlosigkeit“ ureigenste europäische Themen sind. Pandemiebedingt blieb sein Bühnenprojekt FUCK YOU, EU.RO.PA! unrealisiert. Mit dem Auftrag zu einer filmischen Umsetzung setzten  das Straßburger Theater Maillon und Fast Forward ihre Kooperation zur Förderung junger Theatermacher*innen, die Grenz- und Sprachgrenzen überschreitend arbeiten, fort.

Joachim B.-Mathlett/europe transistor: FUCK YOU, Eu. ro. Pa! – Film projection based on the theater play of the same name by Nicoleta Esinencu (film and discussion)

Nicoleta Esinencu was born in 1978 in a country that no longer exists. Just like the protagonist in FUCK YOU, EU.RO.PA!, the play the Moldavian author wrote as a scholarship holder at Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart and which earned her the Romanian dramAcum Prize and a performance ban in Moldova in 2005. Esinencu’s monologue is a self-confident game with the other, a confession, an accusation, a collection of symptoms and a memory of a transformation: from communism to post-communism, into the new time in which everything and much does not change, from the promise of salvation to disillusionment. 

It is this perspective that the German-French director Joachim B.-Malthet is interested in with the collective europa transistor, convinced that „individual identity and collective, 

adaptation and exclusion, inequalities, homeland and homelessness“ are the very essence of European themes. Due to the pandemic, his stage project FUCK YOU, EU.RO.PA! remained unrealized. With the commission of a cinematic adaptation, Strasbourg’s Theater Maillon and Fast Forward continued their cooperation to promote young theater makers who cross borders and language barriers.
